Hello? Is anybody there? Are you listening?

Do you use social media? Think Facebook is the only platform in town? Think again.

This past week, I noticed a food truck on Twitter promoting the fact that they were giving away FREE product samples to visitors near a certain bank in Milwaukee. As free food samples are a favorite in this town (and probably anywhere for that matter), I thought it only fitting to retweet the post. However, as I tried to modify the tweet to add the bank handle, I was pleasantly surprised to discover the bank mentioned was not on Twitter.

Needless to say, I had no choice but to retweet the original message, because I had no other option.

Does the bank even know they are being talked about on Twitter? Do they have plans to join the conversation soon?

Customers will always talk about your business (for good and bad reasons), especially now online. Are you listening to them, engaging with them, answering their questions and educating them, or are you still using solely push marketing to tell people why they should bank with you?

Listen up. Your business will improve because of it.
