Today marks the 44th anniversary of Earth Day. Every year, Americans nationwide celebrate by making eco-friendly choices designed to improving the planet.

This year, I decided to do my part in ernest by starting a company dedicated to the environment. Compost Express has arrived. Launching as Greater Milwaukee’s first urban curbside compost pick up service, we will pick up kitchen scraps weekly from homes and businesses like yours and turn them into nutrient rich compost.

Doing so will divert thousands of pounds of material from landfills, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve soil quality. With nutritious, better tasting, and healthier food as an end result, it’s an effort worth undertaking to continue the food cycle naturally.

Stay tuned for more information about compostable organic materials, red wigglers, loamy soil, humus and nutrients! All are key components to making our community more sustainable. Exciting stuff.
